If you had a baby and cannot get rid of the tummy fat left behind, this can be hard to deal with. Fortunately, there are procedures that can help get this fat off, three of which are listed below.

Coolsculpting

Coolsculpting is a fat-freezing method to remove fat in your belly. It can also be used to remove fat from other areas of your body. This method is known as cryolipolysis and freezes the fat at a certain temperature that destroys the fat but leaves your skin unharmed.

Coolsculpting is not a surgical procedure, and no needles are used. The doctor holds the fat between two special paddles. The paddles are left in place for a certain amount of time, which may be an hour or more. During this time the paddles are destroying the fat cells in your belly.

It may take a few months to see complete results from this procedure. It takes time for the dead fat cells to clear out of your body. How long it takes will be determined by how much fat was removed.

Liposuction

Liposuction is another option you have to remove belly fat. This is a surgical procedure that is generally done in a hospital.  The doctor makes a small incision in your belly and then uses a cannula, which is a small tube, to suction the fat deposits out of your abdomen. The abdominal area is also sculpted so your belly will look normal again. After the procedure, the doctor closes the incision.

Liposuction will generally give you better results faster when compared to other treatments. You do have to consider, however, that it will take you longer to recover from liposuction as it may take a few weeks. Liposuction is also more expensive than other types, such as Coolsculpting.

Tummy Tuck

Another surgical procedure is a tummy tuck which is generally done by a cosmetic surgeon. You will be in the hospital as you are placed under anesthesia during the surgery. The doctor makes an incision on your belly. How long this incision is depends on how much fat you have. The doctor pulls your skin up and taut across your abdomen to remove excess fat and skin. They then close the incision, and you will have a much flatter stomach and tighter skin.

Your recovery time is generally a few weeks, but this depends on how large the incision is. The doctor can tell you how long this will be. Before you leave the hospital, the doctor puts a large bandage over the incision. They may also prescribe antibiotics to help prevent infection. The doctor will give you information on what you should do to help you recover faster.

Make sure you eat healthily and exercise as new fat cells can grow after any of these treatments.
